Mr. Volker Michels | Head of Controlling APAC, Jungheinrich

Mr. Volker Michels is Head of Controlling APAC for Jungheinrich since 2020. His main tasks are to provide a comprehensive reporting system for all JH units in APAC, align and implement tools for reporting and analysis and to foster an APAC-wide awareness of the TEAM Jungheinrich in APAC.
Before he worked for 7 years in the Jungheinrich factory in Qingpu / Shanghai and build up a capable team to deal with all Controlling aspects of a factory. Main responsibilities included, but not limited to Reporting / Planning/ Forecasting, business case preparation, Controlling of production cost, productivity etc. He led several, mainly business process-related projects. His biggest project was a development project for an electric counterbalance truck.
In his previous career he served as an officer (Lieutenant Commander) in the German Navy for 12 years. In this function he served in a maritime United Nations mission twice. The last two years of his service he worked in the Budgeting department of the Ministry of Defense.

He holds a diploma in Business Administration from Helmut-Schmidt-University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg and a MBA from the Nordakademie Graduate School close to Hamburg.
